Our First Book!
but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
Well, it finally happened! We have our first book, Hear My Prayer, up on Amazon!
I drove down to my mom’s house yesterday, and was here for the ‘big moment’ when we released our book for sale. It wasn’t quite as exciting as we were anticipating. No confetti shot out of the computer, no trumpeting horns when we finally ‘pushed the button.’ We were, however, immediately taken to another page that asked us a bunch of questions about the book, and we had that dazed and slightly clueless look about us as we muddled our way through. But then, this morning, the big pay off! We went to Amazon, did a search for Porkie and Pete, and miracle of miracles- there it was!
It seems very surreal, and we keep pinching ourselves to make sure we aren’t dreaming. So we decided to celebrate, as only we know how to celebrate. That’s right, we went and got coffee. On the way home, Mom said, “This reminds me of that song, ‘Impossible things are happening every day!’*” And laughing, we drove the rest of the way home sipping our coffee and singing that song**. I was really amazed at the number of lines we actually remembered. But if you listen to the lyrics, they sum up how absolutely impossible this all seemed to us at the beginning. Over a year ago, when my Uncle Bob said we would have these books for sale on Amazon, I think I may have snorted in disbelief.
BUT God does not find our dreams ridiculous or impossible. And when we dream with God, then I would dare to say that even the impossible becomes probable. He is good and faithful. He sees his work through to completion. He does not give up on us, even when we give up on ourselves. So as giggly and silly as my mom and I are this morning, we are pointing straight toward heaven and giving credit where it is due.
Thanks for celebrating with us!
May God bless your wildest dreams, and come along beside you to encourage you as you work! In Jesus name, Amen!
